Youtube Best Girls - Video and Clips (Search Over): Math and Boobs

Array My 3 day adventure will consist of a boring 1 day seminar sandwiched between 2 days of driving, visiting friends, and eating great food (on the companys tab of course).*Speaking of sandwiches, if any of you feel like sending me a nice turkey sandwich because you feel bad that I haven’t had the chance to celebrate Thanksgiving for about 4 years and I’m stuck at work because I’m not American, I’ll be happy to provide you with my address. My ideal turkey sandwich would be loads of white meat between 2 thick slices of french bread with a shitload of Hellmans mayo and some white cheddar. Add some Claussen dill pickes to the side with a can of BBQ Pringles and a pint of Stella, and I’m set.*Geez I’m hungry, you’d better stop reading and send that sandwich via courier.

AND THEN THERE WHERE THREE

The Blind Leading The Naked plays a bit like The Violent Femmes Blonde On Blonde, The album from Dylan where they plugged in, got some slick production (c/o Jerry Harrison), and included guest horns and whatnot. All the struggling college kids cried “Sell Outs!, These aren’t the Femmes I know and love!” But after a few listens it becomes quite apparent that The Femmes have matured …..and It sounds pretty damn good.

Gano proves he still has a few more alienated nerd anthems to spew and some album dating Ron and Nancy jabs as well. Songs like “Faith” and “Breaking Hearts” blur the line between heart felt and satire leaning further to the satirical side, naturally. Then there’s “Special”, “I Held Her In My Arms” and “Heartache” delivering the “stuck in your head all day” catchiness the band is so well known for. Throw on the pleasingly creepy “Candlelight Song” and a right decent Bolan cover, “Children of the Revolution”, you got yourself a damn fine slab o’ vinyl.

The third album from the Violent Femmes, has never received the attention and acclaim it deserves. It has its own sound and identity; moving away from the brash, angst-ridden testimonials of the group’s early days toward a softer, sometimes mellow sound. Of course, Gordon Gano can only be mellow for so long. Old Mother Reagan provides a quick and furious introduction to the album, and this initial energy carries over into the first third of the tracks. No Killing is great, and Faith follows up on the sort of driving religious track introduced on the Hallowed Ground album. Breakin Hearts” has a Buddy Holly feel to it that I really like. Gano turns his frenzied vocals loose on “Special” and “I Held Her in My Arms”; these two songs, combined with the unrestrained “Heartache” and “Cold Canyon” tracks, help give this album a great balance between the hard-hitting songs you would expect from the Violent Femmes and the unusual softer side that Gano and the guys give birth to here. Accompanied by the unique musical stylings of The Horns of Dilemma and produced by the Talking Heads very own Jerry Harrison, The Blind Leading the Naked is a great album that introduces us to an entirely new type of sound from this always unpredictable and unorthodox trio of musical entrepreneurs. Time has left The Blind Leading the Naked buried in its wake with the debut and later major label releases foaming over it.link

(Undoubtedly one of the greatest ways to open an album ever, especially an album called COMBAT ROCK!)

A band formed as part of the rebellious punk movement of the late 70s, The Clash possessed a maverick combination of music and politics which did not cease innovating until the end of their short, but prolific career. Though initially at the forefront of the British punk contingent along with the Sex Pistols and The Damned, The Clash greatly expanded their musical frontiers throughout their career, experimenting with styles far removed from their original punk sound. Combat Rock is probably the Clash’s most underrated album, and it kind of puzzles me why.
