That’s like having access to one library of content. This IndieFlix system gives you access to an entire library system because people who can’t get distribution deals will be able to list their movies here.

I was immediately attracted to a few pages with charts, my favourite venue for organizing information, on Greek Letter Forms, Greek Letter Combinations (Ligatures, etc.) and Common Abbreviations. While it may seem repetitive, I am posting the page of Bergekios’ manuscript again but in a larger format. I hope that with this page open and enlarged and the many pages of Greek ligatures available, this will start to look more familiar to me.Later, I will scan in few pages of ligatures and abbreviations from the books I have here.

Array Present day banks are synonymous with bank loans to such an extent that practically every individual who has a bank account has a bank loan of some sort or the other. It is improbable that in the present day and age anyone (unless born to money) has enough money lying around to make big ticket purchases like a flat or an apartment, without resorting to a bank loan or mortgage.Bank loans have attained the reputation of a necessity in today’s world where the temptation to own products are so great that one takes the recourse of a bank loan and in return enjoys the product or benefit while paying back the loan in installments. There exist student loans too, where a bank advances money for studies with a condition of repayment after the student joins the mainstream and starts earning a regular income.Broadly speaking, even credit cards are a form of a bank loan that you can repay over time in installments and some banks even offer you loans to pay up other loans you may have taken in the past.Bank loans issued to individuals for the purpose of housing probably out number other loans issued by banks.

With this impressive sentence, the book with the same titile of this article starts. This book was published 35 years ago in Japan, and prented again many times. She wrote the book when she was 20 years old. But, she began to commit a political movement soon when she became 20 years old. The notebook was the document of her thinking in the movement. She was influenced by political activists, but I don’t think she was biased. Soon after she wrote her political opinion in her notebook, she understood her bias and wrote down the possibility of her misunderstanding on it. Because for us, politics is the inncident on TV, not in our real life. Now, my company is planning to reprint and sell out-of-print books.

Since the launching of our weekly senior high Bible Study called “The Way of the Revolutionary” I have been wrestling with how I can most effectively and accurately present the revolutionary life and teachings of Jesus to teens who come from all different faith and church backgrounds. In order to start on the same page, I feel the need to do some foundation-laying work, clearing away some unnecessary traditional brush and clearing the way for a clear picture of the real Jesus of Nazareth. We believe that God has acted within history through Jesus the Messiah in order to usher history into its next great Act. The Revolution is attempting to follow the example set by Jesus himself. Regardless of where people are at in their faith journey at the moment of the call (a believer, a skeptic, or somewhere between), they are all invited to “drop their nets”, to leave their everyday life behind for a couple hours a week, to come sit at the feet of the teachings of Jesus and hear about his revolutionary life and challenge. **Above all, this approach attempts to place faith in the person of Jesus once again at the center of the Christian life, where many have substituted faith in a particular creed instead. Too many Christians profess their faith in an accepted doctrinal statement or creed, yet never encounter Jesus in a personal way, and learn to actually follow him in their day-to-day walk. We are calling all Jesus followers, not mere converts to a particular creed (though these shouldn’t be mutually exclusive).

A little late — 60 to 45I don’t know when it started but one of my defecencies in life is returning rental movies on time.I’m always late. And with all the late fees I’ve racked up, I could have bought all of the movies I have rented. With that said, last saturday I bit the bullet and paid my late charges at blockbusters.

Iwo Jima The famous battle offers lessons for us 60 years later. For the next 36 days Iwo Jima would become the most populous 7 1/2 square miles on the planet, as U.S. Marines and Japanese soldiers fought a battle that would test American resolve even more than D-Day or the Battle of the Bulge had, and that still symbolizes a free society’s willingness to make the sacrifice necessary to prevail over evil–a sacrifice as relevant today as it was 60 years ago.The attack on Iwo Jima capped a two-year island-hopping campaign that was as controversial with politicians and the press as any Rumsfeld strategy. Smith, and if we have to, we can do it again.Even before the attack, the Navy’s bombardment of Iwo Jima cost more ships and men than it lost on D-Day, without making a significant dent in the Japanese defenses. The capture of Suribachi only marked the beginning of the battle for Iwo Jima, which dragged on for another month and cost nearly 26,000 men–all for an island whose future as a major air base never materialized. One in three Marines on Iwo Jima would either be killed or wounded, including 19 of 24 battalion commanders. Nimitz, commander in chief of the U.S. Pacific Command, said, Among the Americans who served on Iwo Island, uncommon valor was a common virtue.Yet even this valor and sacrifice is not the full story of what Iwo Jima means, or what Rosenthal’s immortal photograph truly symbolizes. Only one thing is certain: As long as Americans cherish the memory of those who served at Iwo Jima, and grasp the crucial lesson they offer all free societies, the totalitarians will never win.

Array After squishing the large bag and one of the smaller ones into the trunk, it was decided that the only way we could get the others into the (small) backseat was to put the top down. We finally go onto I-5 which took us right into San Diego, but it took about 3 ½ hrs. It’s been about 30 plus years since I traveled to San Diego and don’t remember much about it but it’s all residential now from LA into San Diego. Fortunately, our hotel was just off the downtown exit in San Diego. We had reservations for the next two nights at the Radisson Harbor View hotel, a newly renovated french art deco hotel located in downtown San Diego. After parking our car and unloading the Linda’s luggage and my small bag (I want to point out again that my bag was a small one), we checked in, and got to our room. Most were artsy films we would never see nor would want to see ( a lot of films about alternative life styles and social issue films that may play in larger metropolitan areas on the East and West coast but not in mid-America.) Deciding to finally call it a day, we hailed a cab and went back to our hotel for a good nights sleep.

-ne Yay, second exam over, only two more left! Tuesday’s exam is somewhat more important, I’m sitting on about half marks for my assessment, so I need to pass the exam if I want to get my second major in Biology, at least I’ve got two whole days which I can spend studying that alone. As far as exams go, these ones are pretty good, all four of them are in the afternoon (yay for a non-morning person like myself!), and they’re quite well spaced apart. Also, for the first time in a couple of years I don’t have an exam clash!

We crossed the border back into Germany and shortly after crossing Valentin pulled over to the shoulder to show me a little piece of history. There home is really quite beautiful in many ways, with handmade tiles pressed into the floor and walls, and a newly contructed sauna on the top floor….but the pig in the kitchen and the lack of heat through out the house was just a little bit too organic. That night we sampled many of the 3 week old wines from the tank and then retired upstairs, to the top floor of the house, where we enjoyed several rounds in the sauna, Klaus’ interesting selection of music, ranging from traditional German folk, to modern German music from his hometown, and a fantastic sample of African music as well.

I know Kari has sent out a few short updates, hopefully this one will catch you up to speed on the last 6 weeks of life in Jordan – through Kip’s eyes. School remains to be my main focus – funny how that is. Anyway, I have figured out a balanced routine for school. I continue to put in many hours, however, I do all of my work at school. Now, I stay after school until all my work is complete. It is hard to believe that the first quarter of school is already gone and that the second quarter is almost half over. Also interesting were the parents… I have students whose parents are diplomats, ambassadors, a Major in the Jordanian Army who works with the King, Prime Ministers of various operations in Jordan, UN workers (including the man in charge of all UN operations in Iraq), Palestinian Lawyer, and I teach a student who is Arafat’s niece… just to name a few. A highlight of school over the past couple months: I was honored, by being asked to accompany the high school leadership team on a leadership retreat to Wadi Rum. The students had many sessions that focused on this year at ACS and how they can improve the school in various ways. Other recent travel adventures over the past several weeks have been trips to Aqaba, Petra, Jerash, and the Dead Sea. Our high school graduation is held in one of the amphitheaters there in the spring. however, more enjoyable this time as Kari and I experienced it together and I didn’t have to supervise 100 high school students. I woman that I teach with had Iftar at her family’s home in the Jordan Valley. We watched the sunset over the Dead Sea and Palestine surrounded by lush gardens with jasper, honeysuckle, bougainvilleas, palm trees, illuminated Arabic seating areas, music, pools and fountains… and of course, delightful traditional Arabic, Ramadan cuisine. The next couple months will fly by as we have several breaks from school. Keep in mind there is an open invitation to visit us here in this wonderful place.

Array My 3 day adventure will consist of a boring 1 day seminar sandwiched between 2 days of driving, visiting friends, and eating great food (on the companys tab of course).*Speaking of sandwiches, if any of you feel like sending me a nice turkey sandwich because you feel bad that I haven’t had the chance to celebrate Thanksgiving for about 4 years and I’m stuck at work because I’m not American, I’ll be happy to provide you with my address. My ideal turkey sandwich would be loads of white meat between 2 thick slices of french bread with a shitload of Hellmans mayo and some white cheddar. Add some Claussen dill pickes to the side with a can of BBQ Pringles and a pint of Stella, and I’m set.*Geez I’m hungry, you’d better stop reading and send that sandwich via courier.

AND THEN THERE WHERE THREE

The Blind Leading The Naked plays a bit like The Violent Femmes Blonde On Blonde, The album from Dylan where they plugged in, got some slick production (c/o Jerry Harrison), and included guest horns and whatnot. All the struggling college kids cried “Sell Outs!, These aren’t the Femmes I know and love!” But after a few listens it becomes quite apparent that The Femmes have matured …..and It sounds pretty damn good.

Gano proves he still has a few more alienated nerd anthems to spew and some album dating Ron and Nancy jabs as well. Songs like “Faith” and “Breaking Hearts” blur the line between heart felt and satire leaning further to the satirical side, naturally. Then there’s “Special”, “I Held Her In My Arms” and “Heartache” delivering the “stuck in your head all day” catchiness the band is so well known for. Throw on the pleasingly creepy “Candlelight Song” and a right decent Bolan cover, “Children of the Revolution”, you got yourself a damn fine slab o’ vinyl.

The third album from the Violent Femmes, has never received the attention and acclaim it deserves. It has its own sound and identity; moving away from the brash, angst-ridden testimonials of the group’s early days toward a softer, sometimes mellow sound. Of course, Gordon Gano can only be mellow for so long. Old Mother Reagan provides a quick and furious introduction to the album, and this initial energy carries over into the first third of the tracks. No Killing is great, and Faith follows up on the sort of driving religious track introduced on the Hallowed Ground album. Breakin Hearts” has a Buddy Holly feel to it that I really like. Gano turns his frenzied vocals loose on “Special” and “I Held Her in My Arms”; these two songs, combined with the unrestrained “Heartache” and “Cold Canyon” tracks, help give this album a great balance between the hard-hitting songs you would expect from the Violent Femmes and the unusual softer side that Gano and the guys give birth to here. Accompanied by the unique musical stylings of The Horns of Dilemma and produced by the Talking Heads very own Jerry Harrison, The Blind Leading the Naked is a great album that introduces us to an entirely new type of sound from this always unpredictable and unorthodox trio of musical entrepreneurs. Time has left The Blind Leading the Naked buried in its wake with the debut and later major label releases foaming over it.link

(Undoubtedly one of the greatest ways to open an album ever, especially an album called COMBAT ROCK!)

A band formed as part of the rebellious punk movement of the late 70s, The Clash possessed a maverick combination of music and politics which did not cease innovating until the end of their short, but prolific career. Though initially at the forefront of the British punk contingent along with the Sex Pistols and The Damned, The Clash greatly expanded their musical frontiers throughout their career, experimenting with styles far removed from their original punk sound. Combat Rock is probably the Clash’s most underrated album, and it kind of puzzles me why.

WaPo online has this headline:Americans Ignored Risk In Flocking To CoastMore Blame Game? It sounds like crazy Americans are to blame for foolishly moving to the Gulf Coast. But the article tells how…… The federal government also paid prodigious sums in flood insurance claims to property owners who had insisted on building in harms way.”And …..”Theres been a steadily increasing buildup in high-hazard areas, especially in the Gulf from Louisiana to Alabama, Conrad said. The federal and local governments dont have the ability to say no, even when the risks are so obvious.”Then there is this….. In 1998, Deputy Assistant Army Secretary Michael L. Davis tried to stop the Army Corps of Engineers from rubber-stamping casino applications without studying the impact dredging would have on marshes that shelter wildlife, purify drinking water and help prevent flooding. This angered Lott, then Senate majority leader, who had recently flown to Las Vegas in a casino executives jet and had raised 00,000 for Republicans at a casino-industry fundraiser. Lott got the moratorium lifted, then he got the Army to launch an investigation of Davis. No wrongdoing was found, but Davis was removed from Gulf Coast permitting issues. So the government was doing much to encourage this flocking to the coast. So before we blame the American people for engaging in such risky behavior I think we should ask who was to benefit from the risky development of this area. Like say Joseph C. Canizaro, CEO of Columbus Properties of New Orleans and one of 4 LA Bush 2000 Pioneer and 2004 Ranger. Mother Jones puts his contribution gathering prowess at 87,250 and that only up to 2000. Canizaro once said, “You have to participate in government if you want to get something out of it.” Yup. It is wise to know folks in high places…..say W. After all Canizaro was one of 22 wealthy business leaders whom President Bush invited to lunch in 2001 to discuss his tax cut for the wealthy. And Canizaros Gulf Coast development……Its called Tradition. The Tradition web site certainly is heavy on luring those flocking Americans to the Gulf Coast…The Gulf Coast is fast becoming a premier national destination resort, entertaining over 20 million tourists annually. Located only minutes from the coastline, Tradition offers access to all the benefits that the region has to offer. With the excellent fishing and golfing opportunities, Las Vegas-style gaming and entertainment, and white sand beaches just minutes away, Tradition and the Mississippi Gulf Coast offer an attractive alternative to Florida retirement. The Gulf Coast, however, is more than just a beach town.INDEED….Mississippis low crime rate, which is 14.5% below the national average, provides an underlying level of personal security that stands in sharp contrast to many popular destinations like Florida and Arizona. Additionally, Mississippi is tax-friendly when it comes to retirees. In addition to low tax rates in general, retirees living in Mississippi do not pay state income tax on qualified retirement income. They also gain an additional exemption of property taxes upon reaching the age of 65. Tradition has been diligently working in tangent with several retirement communities in trying to eliminate state taxes for all retirees 55 years of age and older. There appears to be state government help also in luring those crazy flocking Americans to that risky coast area. In fairness ….Tradition is not right on the Coastline (was there any left for development) and their web site claims the Sierra Club did a nice write up on the development. All the same it looks like once again we see another example of Bush Ranger/Pioneer buddies profiting from state and federal government breaks. This political patronage, graft and corruption needs to stop. Oh and and a few asides…..Mr. Canizaro founded Coporate Capital in 1998 which invested in Automated Technology Machines or ATM machines, owning 1,000 ATMs in the US.Think of that next time you are at the ATM……might be giving profit to Bushs Ranger. And Mr. Canizaro is a member of the Tulane University Presidents Council. Now you dont think he could have had anything to do with Tulane University Hospital getting their staff evacuated out of NO as Charity hospital patients waited (and died) in vain for choppers that never came? NAW Im sure that NEVER played into it.

The European Union must build new nuclear plants to soften the impact of astronomical oil prices, said Andris Piebalgs, EU energy commissioner. He explained that instability in the Middle East and the impact of hurricane Katrina helped push levels up from 5 a barrel at the start of the year to some 0 a barrel today, causing alarm for EU motorists as petrol prices shot up across the union. But he warned that the EU must focus on combating the long-term problem of demand growth outracing supply, with Chinese consumption alone soaring by 65 percent in the past three years. The European Commission plans to accelerate the implementation of energy-saving and renewable energy source directives in the coming months to help stem European demand for fossil fuels. But he warned that new coal and nuclear energy plants might also have to be built to help deal with the global problem.I expect investments in the nuclear sector in Europe, and in the rest of the world, will grow, the commissioner said.Elsewhere, EU Science and Research Commissioner Janez Potocnik called on European countries to collaborate in the field of nuclear research.Speaking at an international conference on ‘nuclear energy for a new Europe’ in his home country of Slovenia on 5 September, the Commissioner argued that satisfying Europe’s demand for energy requires a comprehensive research effort focused on a broad range of energy technologies, including nuclear.’Nuclear power provides approximately one-third of Europe’s electricity and is by far the most significant source of [...] carbon-free generation available today.

Array They did show an Air Jamaica Airbus A340 flying though (a little redemption). The first team, Rob and Amber picked up there clue and left at 2:47 a.m. and headed for London-Heathrow International (LHR), destination, Kingston, Jamaica (KIN). But I think Air Jamaica were the sponsors of this particular round as they showed the Air Jamaica A340 flying when they mentioned that the teams had to fly to Jamaica. The producers then showed an American Airlines Boeing 757 taking off and landing in what I guess was Montego Bay and San Juan. Now, here is where the show took a great leap. AA858 is usually the first flight out, at about 8:01 a.m., but they were in luck as the agent said it was delayed and was leaving at 9:54 a.m. Otherwise they would have had to wait for the next flight and Ron and Kelly would have caught up with them.Of course they showed an Airbus taking off from MBJ (wrong) and a Boeing 757 landing in SJU. They showed a Boeing 757 taking off for second flight and a Boeing 757 landing in SJU, which is totally plausible so they did good there. Finally, Uchena and Joyce took the 4:58 p.m. AA flight. Go figure…They then showed an American Airlines Boeing 757 taking off and landing in Miami, sigh…Once Ron and Kelly showed up, they got on the Boeing 737-800, which they showed, but end up showing a Boeing 757-200 landing in Miami. That was the last aviation event of the show as the three teams tried to get to Benet House in Fort Lauderdale for the finale.Congrats to Uchena and Joyce for outwitting Rob and Amber to win the M!

I used to wear those daggy ones with velcro instead of shoe laces but I think it’s time for me to get a decent pair of runners with shoe laces instead of velcro. When Gavin told me to get on the trampoline without the brace, I told him that it’s fine to take off my ankle brace but it will probably take me a while put it back on with my new runners. At first, he thought I had trouble tie up the shoe laces so he told me that I can get those elastice shoe laces. I know he always thinks I’m a grown up and I should be able to look after myself. I know it’s fine for me to go there on my own but sometimes, I think it’d be nice to have someone there with me just to see what I’m doing and can help me asking questions and remembering all the answers. I didn’t know I was so tense but at one stage he commented that he didn’t know I could ‘multi-tasking’. Gavin watched and thought I was doing better. I told him that I have worked very hard on my legs while I was in Canberra – with the combination of stepper and elliptical. At the end of the session, Gavin asked me to bring my shoulder exercises with me next time because he wants to make some changes. I thought he was pointing at tib ante but he said no, it’s tib post. I thought tib post is deep in the calf and didn’t know it actually runs all the way down near the ankle. He didn’t think my problem was spasticity and an injection in tib post is not going to do me any good. In fact, he thinks it’s going to make my walking worse. I wish Tim was there with me because I don’t think I fully understood what Gavin was on about. He has been pushing me to hassel John Olver’s secretary to arrange for the Botox as John promised but I told Tim that Gavin didn’t think it was necessary. I think my instinct tells me I should trust Gavin more since he doesn’t need to answer his mobile phone all the time or running around like a headless chook to get his visa for overseas trips.

for ChinaAs their certifiably crazy neighbor, North Korea, moves towards their first nuclear bomb test, China continues to play inscrutably stubborn. Because, without the charity fuel and food North Korea gets from China the Nutty Kingdom would collapse in a matter of months. But the Chinese won’t do it because it uses North Korea like a thug uses a mean pit bull on a leash. And Cuba, like North Korea had a half-crazy leader propped up, like North Korea, by a giant communist power, the Soviets. We know what Kennedy did during the Cuban crisis, and I suspect he would do much the same now if he were in Oval Office. Yesterday North Korea announced it had finished removing over 8,000 spent fuel rods from a nuclear reactor. Without US trade China’s development would grind to a crawl, and they know it.So, Cowboy George, do you have the same size balls as that bleeding heart liberal, JFK?We’ll see.(Memo to the Chinese: BTW, the place the North Koreans plan to set off their first nuke, Kilju, is right over the aquifer that supplies Southern China with fresh water. Pension PainsI wonder if Bush sees any irony in the ruling yesterday by a federal bankruptcy judge allowing United Airlines to dump billions of dollars of pension obligations onto the federal government? The ruling releases United, a unit of the United Airlines, from .2 billion in pension obligations over the next five years. Apparently there was no lockbox at United. Now that United has been allowed to dump it’s pension obligation on taxpayers, just wait and see how many other companies do the same. And the administration wonders why voters don’t like their Social Security “reforms.”How much would you like to bet that a decade or two after private accounts are allowed that those funds will come up short on the cash to pay their obligations and will be lining up in front of Uncle Sam’s ATM begging for taxpayer help? You can bet on it.

However, that was why Grenouille could grow up in her house, even though he didn’t smell anything, Madame Gaillard didn’t scared of or hated him because she lost her feeling of scents. Grenouille smelled one scent, a brilliant scent that he couldn’t image what was that. He followed it through the buildings, through the other land and at last, he smelled that the scent was from a beautiful girl. He killed her, to smell her, he smelled her until she didn’t have any scent left. After that, Grenouille found out his ambition, he wanted to control the scents and made the scent for his own.

We learn a lot more about Jonn and his brother this issue. He’s also thinking about how, whenever he had an interaction with Ollie, he had to stay in human form, because Ollie couldn’t get past that he was an alien, and what he looked like. I was kind of happy I didnt know any splits, that way I just raced and didnt even think about time.I ended up running 24:43 and I was hoping to run faster but I realized that isnt everything considering how the course was. The funny thing is that I was fine on the uphills but I struggled on the downhills and ended up getting dropped on a long downhill because I couldnt turn over fast enough.Looking forward…the goal is still the same. 2 mile - 1 mile - 1 mile fap.
